Food Safe Epoxy Adhesives

Permabond Food-Safe Epoxy Adhesives

Permabond food-safe epoxy adhesives have been formulated using FDA-approved raw materials. These adhesives therefore comply with CFR 175.105 as well as European Framework Regulation EU 1935/2004.  As a result, they are ideal for bonding and sealing food contact equipment and appliances.

2-Part epoxy adhesives offer a quick and easy way of bonding a wide variety of substrates, including metals, composites, ceramics, and glass. They allow accurate alignment of parts and, if necessary, cure quickly upon exposure to heat. In addition, they cure to form a high-strength rigid solid which is non-porous and easy to clean, as well as offering excellent resistance to water, food, cleaning fluids, and heat.

Permabond® ET5145 & ET5147 Food Safe Epoxy Adhesive features & benefits:

food safe epoxy

Customers often ask us for food-safe adhesives that are different chemically to epoxies, such as UV or cyanoacrylate adhesives.  The terms ‘food-safe’ and ‘food-grade’ may have a different meaning to some people but generally, anyone requesting such products expects them to be formulated with only raw materials listed in the FDA CFR (Code of Federal Regulations) 175.105.  The CFR doesn’t list the ingredients used to formulate UV or cyanoacrylate adhesives, and thus we can’t be sure if they are truly food-safe.
