Do we still have to use the STINKY STUFF or is there a low odor adhesive?

Traditional methylmethacrylates (MMAs) are flammable and have an unusually strong odor.  For many applications, these acrylic adhesives are the absolute best choice.  Their uncanny ability to form very strong bonds to a variety of materials, from thin aluminium truck panels to some of the toughest plastics, make them desirable even if they do smell.  Manufacturers that require strong bonds to thermoplastics, thermosets, metals, and composites rely on Permabond MMAs (methyl methacrylates.) Because, the form high strength bonds without surface preparation.  They provide excellent durability, resistance to many common industrial solvents and fuels, and harsh environmental conditions. MMAs (methyl methacrylates) cure at room temperature and have good gap filling and non-sag properties. For ease of use, dispense through static mixing nozzles.

New non-flammable acrylic adhesives Permabond TA452 and TA4522 provide good adhesion to many materials. Without the risks and costs a flammable product bring.  The non-flammable acrylic adhesives are low odor adhesives which not only improve worker comfort, but reduce shipping, storage and ventilation costs.  For many applications these non-flammable acrylic adhesives provide the best of both worlds.

The low odor adhesives are 2-part, 1:1 toughened acrylic adhesives can be used to bond a wide variety of materials including metals, plastics, GRP, ceramics, wood and other substrates.  They also provide excellent durability and resistance to many common industrial solvents and fuels, as well as harsh environmental conditions. They are dispensed through static mix nozzles or applied bead-on-bead without static mixer.
