PERMABOND® 825 is a low viscosity cyanoacrylate adhesive that provides higher strength at high temperatures. Additionally, this fast-setting cyanoacrylate bonds metals, rubbers, plastics, and more. In fact, Permabond 825 resists up to 392°F (200°C) and has excellent retention of strength during thermal aging. PATENTED TECHNOLOGY
Typical ethyl cyanoacrylates resist up to 180°F (82°C) with special grades resisting as high as 250°F (120°C). Generally, methyl cyanoacrylates resist 195°F (90°C). Specialty allyl cyanoacrylates can resist up to 482°F (250°C). However, these require a post-cure or secondary heat cure to achieve the temperature resistance.
Cyanoacrylate adhesives are single component adhesives that polymerize rapidly when pressed into a thin film between parts. The moisture adsorbed on the surface initiates the curing of the adhesive. Strong bonds are developed extremely fast and on a great variety of materials.
1) Apply the adhesive sparingly to one surface.
2) Then, bring the components together quickly and correctly aligned.
3) Apply sufficient pressure to ensure the adhesive spreads into a thin film.
4) Do not disturb or re–align until sufficient strength is achieved, normally in a few seconds.
