New Thermally Conductive Epoxy, Permabond ET5441 with High Temperature Resistance!

Permabond® ET5441 is a two-component, thermally conductive epoxy adhesive. It is ideal for bonding metal substrates in applications that require excellent resistance to high temperature.

Permabond® ET5441 offers high strength performance. In fact, even at 180°C  (356°F), it achieves 5-6MPa (725-870 psi) shear strength on mild steel and can even withstand temperatures above 200°C  for brief periods, making it suitable for applications involving solder reflow processes and paint bake ovens.

Key features of the product include:

  • Full cure at room temperature
  • Excellent thermal conductivity 1 W/m.k (normal epoxies are 0.3 W/m.k)
  • Bonds a wide variety of metals, plastics, and composites
  • Long pot life 2-3 hours
  • Packaged in cartridges or bulk, 2:1 mix ratio

As a result, suitable applications include bonding battery cells to the casing for electric vehicle batteries, electric motor, and electronics components. Applications where high strength structural bonding and resistance to high temperatures are required but where a single-part, heat-cure thermally conductive epoxy is impractical.

Available in 10 x 50ml cartridges, 6 x 400ml cartridges, 5 litre bulk packaging. The shelf life of ET5441 is 12 months when stored at 5-25°C (41-77°F).
