Permabond MS Polymer adhesives are single component, hybrid technology adhesives that moisture cure at ambient temperature.  The high elongation and flexible nature of these strong bonds meet the demands of stress from impact, peel, and expansion that can occur when bonding dissimilar materials. They have excellent environmental resistance and remain very flexible.

Weather resistance of MS polymer adhesives

The following chart shows the % strength retention of typical MS Polymer adhesives over temperature. But the primary benefit sought after with MS Polymers is the ability to withstand weather.  They perform excellent in rain, snow, and UV exposure without yellowing, cracking or splitting.  They maintain a pleasing aesthetic appearance in construction or repair of truck trailers, buses, boat and yacht building and are the preferred choice for seam sealing on all thin panel construction (ex truck trailers, mobile homes, air conditioning containers etc…)

Benefits of Permabond MS Polymers include:

  • Paintable
  • Non-corrosive
  • Fast Tack Free Time
  • Adhesion to a Variety of Substrates
  • No primer needed
  • Weather Resistant – No Cracking or Splitting
  • Ease of Application – Use in Most Weather Conditions

In summary, they are very soft and flexible, with low shrinkage, and low read through. They are ideal for exterior applications. For more information or a product recommendation for your application, please contact Permabond.
